Parent Implemented ABA
Program Details
Melmed Center provides Parent-Implemented Applied Behavior Analysis. Our BCBAs work directly with parents utilizing behavioral skills training and the Balance Program or RUBI Curriculum. Parents are taught how to prevent emerging problem behaviors by teaching life skills to their children and how to address mild to moderate problem behaviors if they are already happening.
Sessions are personalized for each family and strategies are implemented by parents with support from the BCBA or a trained professional.
Parent-Implemented ABA is recommended for families on waitlists for focused or comprehensive ABA services or when further intervention is needed.

FAQ's
How do I know which program will work for me?
Parent-Implemented ABA works when parents are actively involved in treatment and practice using the learned techniques between sessions.
Before starting Parent-Implemented ABA and the Balance Program or RUBI curriculum, a determination intake is conducted to ensure the proper fit for families based on goals.
What do sessions look like?
Sessions are approximately 1 - 1.5 hours long. There are 12 to 15 weekly sessions depending on the child’s progress.
Appointment are from 8:00 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
The child and parent must both be present for the sessions. The BCBA, or trained professional, coaches parents on the strategies the child best responds to by demonstrating those techniques and providing feedback as parents implement them.
What if we miss sessions?
For the program to have long-term success, consistent implementation and follow through is needed.
Once set, session times will be the same every week. Session times can be rescheduled if needed.
Treatment will be discontinued after two no-show appointments or following three cancellations.
INSURANCE
At this time, Melmed ABA Program is only contracted with BCBS and United Health Care. We also have private pay rates available.
Parent Training may not be recommended for complex and severe behaviors or if additional skills are required to be taught.
