Impulsivity, short attention span and poor organization skills make functioning with family, friends and school a major challenge. The FOCUS program assists boys and girls in gaining control of attention/behavior. Self-monitoring, relaxation techniques and strategies for making and maintaining friendships are taught!

Calling all boys and girls, this social skills group is for you! Emotions such as frustration, anger, and jealousy often result in acting out and aggressive behavior. Children who are reactive and impulsive learn the “tools” needed for emotional regulation and self-esteem through stories, hands-on activities and games. |

Many young people have a hard time reading social cues, including children with Asperger’s Disorder. Boys and girls uncover the clues of successful social interactions, such as facial expressions and body language. Children learn effective communication skills and how to take the perspective of others. Sessions include modeling, practice of social skills and counseling related to friendship issues. |

Clue Breakers for Teens! is an 8-session interactive group for boys and girls ages 14-17 designed to promote communication and healthy relationships. Group participants discuss life and relationship stressors. Group topics include friends, relationships, identity development, appearance, hygiene, and body image, sexuality, talking to parents, mood, self-esteem, coping/stress management, conflict resolution, academics, and risk taking behaviors. |
