Gina M. DeSimone, PsyD

Gina DeSimone, PsyD., a clinical psychologist, began her career with the Melmed Center as a volunteer in 2003 assisting Dr. Janet Chao with the social skills groups. Dr. DeSimone received her B.S. in Psychology from Arizona State University and her Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University/Phoenix. Dr. DeSimone has an interest in social skills training, having completed her dissertation on the effectiveness of social skills interventions for the treatment of Asperger’s Syndrome. She currently facilitates the Clue Breakers social skills groups.

Dr. DeSimone provides individual and family therapy for children and adolescents on a wide variety of issues. Intervention strategies include play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, parent education, social skills training, and coping and relaxation training. Dr. DeSimone offers psychological and psycho-educational testing services for Kindergarteners through adults.

Dr. DeSimone is also an adjunct faculty member for the Maricopa County Community Colleges, where she teaches undergraduate level psychology courses.
