Game Changers 101
ABA Social Skills Group
for 5-8 year olds
Does your child know how to react when a friend is crying? Does your child storm away from the group when losing in a game? Emotions play a large role in how we relate and interact with each other. Game Changers 101 focuses on recognizing feelings and how to act on them in socially acceptable ways. It prepares children to be successful in team environments while working on problem solving skills and understanding the consequences of their actions. Parent training is an important component for maintenance and generalization of these skills outside of the clinic. Homework is given weekly with suggested activities that support the skills learned. Parent training occurs at the beginning of each session. Weekly handouts that include details on how to implement each skill at home are provided.
Each 8-week session will focus on a new set of skills that emphasizes emotions and the behavior associated with them.
