Parent Training
In some cases, parent coaching is appropriate if parents need additional support and behavior-based strategies to address obstacles such as morning/evening routines, mealtime, homework, potty training, daily living skills or appropriate play with siblings. Parent coaching requires active parent participation and data collection. During the Initial Consultation, we will discuss your family goals followed by assessments. Once assessments are completed, we will develop a treatment plan and provide training for you. Training include modeling and demonstrating skills, in vivo practice and feedback, support and problem solving as situations arise. Depending on your level of comfort, we will meet 2 to 4 times a month to review the data and make any treatment changes. Parent coaching may not be recommended for complex and severe behaviors or if additional skills are required to be taught.
